What is Baptism

Baptism is the public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ. At First Lavaca, we believe three important things about baptism:

1. Baptism does not save us (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)
2. Baptism testifies that you are united with Jesus in his death and resurrection (1 Cor. 15:3-4, Col. 2:12)
3. Baptism illustrates your new life as a Christian (2 Cor. 5:17, Romans 6:4)

If you've made a decision to follow Jesus but have not yet been baptized, we would love to celebrate your baptism at First Lavaca.

I Want to Be Baptized

Baptisms take place during our Sunday morning services upon request. Once you fill out the interest form one of our pastors will contact you to begin the process of baptism
